ORGANIES HEUNING NUUSBRIEF Junie 2015
ALEXANDER SUPERTRAMP is the story of a young adult that reflects a lot in terms of what our iALA students might experience. The story is been put together by Jon Krakauer who also reported from Everest after the 1996 disaster where a few very experience mountaineers died on the North Face of Everest.
Krakauer tells us about Chris that travels America under the name Alexander Supertramp. This young adult reflects back on his family life and the options he considered for his future. It’s a sad story, especially when we realized that broken relationships and families make or break our children. We can’t fix broken relationships with money…was the hard lesson that Alexander Supertramp learns us.
At iALA we’ve got 99% “Wild at Heart” young adults. We’ve challenged them with questions on the main character in “Wild at Heart” with the following;
- WHICH ONE OF THE 5 PRINCIPLES (COMPETENCE, CHARACTER, CLARITY, COURAGE & COACHABILITY), is the MOST SUITABLE for Alexander?
- What part of the story fits in with YOURS?
- Describe the EMOTION that you think that DRIVES him the hardest to make his “MOVE” in life. What EMOTION drives you in life?
The stories of our children are rooted in our stories. The question to our parents will be to try to plot the incidents that form your destiny and to what extend you are duplicating this in the lives of your children.
Die ultimate maagoefening by iALA is natuurlik “LAG”.
